# Setup

> Get started with Kino

<Steps>

    Go to [kino.ai/sign-in](https://kino.ai/sign-in) to create your account. If you joined the waitlist, you'll get an email when your account is ready.

  <Step title="Get the Mac app, or use Chrome">
    Download the [Kino desktop app](https://installer.kino.ai/mac/installer/universal) for macOS. In the browser, Kino relies on APIs that are available in the latest Chrome. See [system requirements](/docs/system-requirements) before importing large projects.

  <Step title="Start using Kino">
    Upload footage, let Kino process it, then start [searching](/docs/features/search), [chatting](/docs/features/chat), and [collaborating](/docs/teams) with your team.

  <Step title="Bring in an existing composition">
    Have a [Remotion](https://www.remotion.dev) project? Click **Import Project** on the projects page and choose its folder to open it as an editable Kino project.
