# Overview - What is Kino?

> Browser-native video editing, AI search, and collaboration

Kino is a video editor built for agents. Everything you create is code, and everything you upload is indexed, so people and agents work on the same footage.

## What you can do

* Build rough cuts, refine edits through conversation, and add clips to your timeline with a message.
* Find moments using natural language, transcript search, visual search, and people filters.
* Generate titles, lower thirds, animated backgrounds, and other motion graphics from a prompt.
* Share projects and timelines as URLs so teammates can edit together without project-file handoffs.
* Connect agents like Claude Code to your library: compositions are code they can read and write.

Kino is also the only tool in the world that plays ProRes, DNxHD, Blackmagic RAW, and Avid's OP-Atom MXF [directly in the browser](/docs/features/pro-media-support).

## Import a Remotion project

Compositions in Kino are code. If you already have a [Remotion](https://www.remotion.dev) project, click **Import Project** on the projects page and choose its folder. Kino reads the composition source and opens it as an editable Kino project.

NLE project import (DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro) is not available right now.
